FAQ

Frequently asked questions about the Volt Zoom integration.

Do I need a paid Zoom plan?

No. The integration works with any Zoom plan, including the free Basic plan. Meeting limits (such as the 40-minute cap on group meetings for Basic accounts) follow your Zoom plan — Volt does not change them.

Can I schedule meetings for a future date?

Not yet. The integration currently supports instant meetings only — typing /zoom in a chat creates a meeting that starts immediately. Scheduled meetings may be added in a future release.

Does it work in group chats?

Yes. The /zoom command works in both individual and group chats. The meeting link is posted into the conversation so every participant can join.

Can each team member connect their own Zoom account?

Yes. The Zoom integration is per user. Each Volt user connects their own Zoom account from Settings → Apps, and meetings they create are owned by their own Zoom profile.

I clicked Connect but the Zoom authorization window didn’t open or got blocked.

Make sure your browser isn’t blocking pop-ups for Volt. If the window still doesn’t appear, click Connect again — Volt will retry the OAuth flow.

Can I change the default meeting settings?

Meeting settings (waiting room, passcode, mute on entry, etc.) follow the defaults configured in your Zoom account. Update them in Zoom → Settings → Meeting and Volt will use the new defaults the next time you create a meeting with /zoom.

How do I rotate or refresh my Zoom connection?

Go to Settings → Apps in Volt, click Disconnect next to Zoom, then click Connect again to re-authorize.

Does Volt store my Zoom recordings or transcripts?

No. Volt does not request access to Zoom recordings, transcripts, or participant data. Volt only requests the scopes needed to create meetings and read your user profile.

How do I uninstall the integration?

See Removing the Integration for full instructions. You can disconnect from inside Volt’s Settings → Apps, or revoke access from the Zoom App Marketplace.

Where do I report a bug or get help?

Email help@voltchat.com and include the platform you’re using (Mac, Windows, or Chrome), a description of the issue, and any reproduction steps. Our Support page has more details on what to include.
