Setup Instructions

Connect your Zendesk account to Volt in a few steps. This is a workspace-level integration β€” once connected, it’s available to everyone in your workspace.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • A Zendesk account with Agent access or higher
  • Your Zendesk subdomain (e.g. yourcompany from yourcompany.zendesk.com)
  • A Zendesk API token (see below)

Step 1 β€” Generate a Zendesk API token

  1. In Zendesk, go to Admin Center β†’ Apps and Integrations β†’ APIs β†’ Zendesk API
  2. Make sure Token Access is enabled
  3. Click Add API token, give it a label (e.g. β€œVolt”), and copy the token β€” it won’t be shown again

Step 2 β€” Connect Zendesk in Volt

  1. Open Volt and go to Settings β†’ Apps & Integrations
  2. Find Zendesk in the list and click Connect
  3. Fill in the required fields:
    • Subdomain β€” your Zendesk subdomain (e.g. yourcompany)
    • Email β€” the email address of the Zendesk agent account
    • API Token β€” the token you generated in Step 1
  4. Click Connect

Volt will verify the credentials and activate the integration. A confirmation toast will appear when it’s ready.

Using the integration

Once connected:

  • Open any chat and look for the Tickets button in the sidebar to view or create tickets for that conversation.
  • To create a ticket from specific messages, select 1–5 messages, then choose Create ticket from messages.
  • To browse all workspace tickets, open the Tickets drawer from the main sidebar.
