Troubleshooting
The QR code scan isn’t working / I can’t connect WhatsApp.
If scanning the initial QR code fails, try the following:
- Turn off your VPN — disable it before relaunching Volt and scanning again.
- Update WhatsApp mobile — install the latest WhatsApp version from the App Store or Google Play.
- Wait after removing a linked device — WhatsApp may apply a short cooldown before allowing another device to connect.
- Let an expired QR code refresh — scan the newly generated code rather than the expired one.
- Fully quit and reopen Volt — use
Cmd+Qon macOS or close Volt completely on Windows, then try again.
See the complete QR code and connection recovery guide. If the issue persists, contact help@voltchat.com.
How do I turn off Volt’s notification sounds?
Go to Settings → Notifications inside Volt and toggle off sounds. Note: if sounds continue after muting, that may be a bug — please report it to Support
I’m having connection issues — do I need to reinstall?
Before reinstalling, try these steps:
- Close Volt completely and reopen it.
- If you’re on a Mac and have the WhatsApp desktop app also open, close it — running both at the same time can cause connection conflicts.
- Check that your internet connection is working.
If the issue persists after these steps, contact support.
Volt shows the wrong version / I’m not sure if I’m on the latest version.
Volt updates automatically. To verify your current version, go to Settings. If you suspect an update is stuck, quit and relaunch Volt to trigger a fresh check.
