Using the Google Meet Integration
Once Google Meet is connected, starting a call from any WhatsApp chat takes a single command.
Start a Google Meet call from a chat
- Open any individual or group chat in Volt.
- In the message composer, type
/meet. - Volt creates a Google Meet call in your account and posts the join link into the chat.
- The link is delivered to everyone in the conversation β they can click it to join the meeting in Google Meet.
The same flow works in both 1:1 chats and group chats.
Joining a call
When someone shares a Google Meet link in a WhatsApp chat (whether through the integration or pasted manually), click it from WhatsApp Web or your Volt client to open the meeting directly in Google Meet β in your browser, the Meet desktop app, or the Meet mobile app.
Tips
- Meetings created with
/meetare instant calls β they start immediately. The integration does not currently support scheduling meetings for a future time. - Meeting settings (background blur, captions, host controls) follow your Google Meet defaults. Adjust them in Google Meet Settings to change defaults Volt uses.
- Meetings created through Volt appear in your Google Calendar just like calls created from Meet directly β you can view, edit, or end them from Google Calendar or Meet.
