Using the Zoom Integration

Once Zoom is connected, starting a call from any WhatsApp chat takes a single command.

Start a Zoom call from a chat

  1. Open any individual or group chat in Volt.
  2. In the message composer, type /zoom.
  3. Volt creates an instant Zoom meeting in your account and posts the join link into the chat.
  4. The link is delivered to everyone in the conversation β€” they can click it to join the meeting in their Zoom client.

The same flow works in both 1:1 chats and group chats.

Joining a call

When someone shares a Zoom link in a WhatsApp chat (whether through the integration or pasted manually), click it from WhatsApp Web or your Volt client to open the meeting directly in your Zoom client. If Zoom isn’t installed locally, the link opens the meeting in your browser.

Tips

  • Meetings created with /zoom are instant meetings β€” they start immediately. The integration does not currently support scheduling meetings for a future time.
  • Meeting settings (waiting room, passcode, default duration) follow the defaults set in your Zoom account. Update them in Zoom β†’ Settings β†’ Meeting to change the defaults Volt uses.
  • Meetings created through Volt appear in your Zoom account just like meetings created from the Zoom client β€” you can view, edit, or end them from Zoom directly.
