Introducing single-letter keyboard shortcuts

New

  • Volt is replacing modifier-heavy combinations with simpler single-letter shortcuts for the actions you use most. The available keys adapt to whether you are in the chat list, composer, or message browser.
  • Move through chats and messages with J and K, then archive, mark unread, or place a chat in a list with E, U, and L. These single-letter actions only run in the relevant context and stay inactive while you type.

Faster navigation

  • New two-key sequences make destinations easier to remember: use G → I, G → C, or G → E to open Inbox, Calls, or Archived, and C → C or C → G to create a contact or group.
  • Open the searchable shortcut guide at any time with ⌘ + / on Mac or Ctrl + / on Windows.

A smoother transition

  • When you use a retired shortcut that has a replacement, Volt points you to the new key so you can update your muscle memory without interrupting your workflow.
  • The keyboard shortcuts product page and documentation now reflect the complete contextual keymap and its current defaults.

Introducing Volt MCP: WhatsApp for your AI assistant

New

  • Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, and other MCP-compatible AI assistants directly to your WhatsApp through Volt.
  • Your assistant can now use 18 WhatsApp tools to read conversations, search and save contacts, send or schedule messages, deliver broadcasts, organize chats, and manage groups.

What you can do

  • Catch up faster by summarizing unread chats, decisions, commitments, and conversations that still need a reply.
  • Draft and send contextual replies, schedule personalized follow-ups, or prepare paced broadcasts without copying information between apps.
  • Create and manage WhatsApp groups, organize conversations with Volt lists, and keep your inbox focused by marking chats read or archiving them.
