MCP Server

Connect WhatsApp to Claude, ChatGPT, and Any AI Assistant

Volt's MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and any MCP-compatible AI assistant read and send WhatsApp messages, manage contacts, and organize chats — directly from your favorite AI tool.

How it works

Three steps to get started

1

Connect your AI assistant

Add Volt's MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or any MCP-compatible client — sign in with your phone number or paste an API key.

2

Ask in plain language

Tell your assistant to send a message, find a contact, schedule a follow-up, or organize a group — no code required.

3

Your assistant acts on WhatsApp

Volt's MCP server carries out the request on your connected WhatsApp account and reports back what happened.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT connect securely to external tools and data. Volt's MCP server exposes WhatsApp to any MCP-compatible client.
Which AI assistants can I connect?
Claude.ai, Claude Desktop, and ChatGPT support a hosted OAuth connection — sign in with your phone number and approve access, no configuration file needed. Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, Codex, and Zed connect with an API key.
Is there a public REST API instead?
Not yet. MCP is currently Volt's only programmatic surface — there is no separate REST API.
Is my WhatsApp data safe?
Yes. Message content accessed through MCP is stored encrypted at rest, retained for a maximum of three months, and permanently deleted as soon as you disconnect the session.
Is MCP available now?
MCP is live and available in beta on every Volt account. New tools are being added regularly.
