Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5/22/2026

At Volt, we take your privacy seriously.

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and handle your information when you use our services (“Services”).

We don't collect more information than we need.

1. Introduction

At Volt Chat LLC (“we”, “our”, or “us”), we provide messaging services via a subscription model. We prioritize your privacy and want to be clear about how we handle your data. By default, we do not store or process any of your personal messages or communication data on our servers. In cases where a specific feature requires temporary data storage to function (for example, message scheduling), we will explicitly inform you and obtain your consent.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimal information necessary to provide our subscription service:

  • Basic account information for billing (name, email address, phone number)
  • Payment information (processed securely through our payment provider)
  • Feature-specific messaging data with your explicit consent (when required for functionality)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

  • Manage your subscription
  • Process payments
  • Communicate about service updates or issues
  • Provide customer support
  • Enable specific features you've opted into when using our services (ie. message scheduling or summaries)

4. How We Share, Transfer, and Disclose Your Information

We do not sell your personal information or Google user data, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes. We share information only in the limited circumstances described below:

  • Service providers: We share the minimum information necessary with vendors that help us operate the Services, under contractual obligations to protect your data. These include our payment processor (Stripe) for billing, our cloud hosting and infrastructure providers (Vercel and Amazon Web Services), and our product analytics providers (PostHog and Vercel Analytics).
  • AI model providers: When you use features that rely on large language models (such as message summaries or AI-assisted replies), the relevant content is sent to our model provider (OpenAI) solely to generate the response you requested. OpenAI processes the content on our behalf and does not use it to train its models.
  • Legal and safety: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request.
  • Business transfers: If Volt Chat LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have.
  • With your consent: We may share information for any other purpose with your explicit consent or at your direction.

We do not transfer or disclose your information to third parties for purposes other than the ones provided above.

5. Google User Data

When you connect a Google account (for example, Gmail, Google Calendar, or Google Drive) to Volt, we request the minimum OAuth scopes required to deliver the feature you asked for. We access your Google user data only to provide the requested functionality to you.

Volt's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular:

  • We do not sell Google user data.
  • We do not use Google user data for serving advertisements.
  • We do not use Google user data to train generalized AI or machine learning models. When Google user data is passed to our AI model provider (OpenAI) to fulfill a feature you have invoked, it is processed solely to return the result to you and is not used by OpenAI to train its models.
  • We do not allow humans to read Google user data except (a) with your explicit consent for specific messages, (b) when necessary for security purposes such as investigating abuse, (c) to comply with applicable law, or (d) in aggregated and anonymized form for internal operations.

We share Google user data only with the service providers listed in Section 4 that are strictly necessary to provide the features you use (for example, our cloud hosting provider to run the Services, and OpenAI when you invoke an AI feature on that data). You can revoke Volt's access to your Google account at any time via your Google Account permissions page, or by contacting us at help@voltchat.com to request deletion.

6. Data Security

We implement robust security measures to protect any information stored on our servers, including billing information and any feature-specific data you've consented to store. We use industry-standard encryption and security protocols to ensure your data remains safe.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your billing information and any feature-specific data stored on our systems. You can request this information or its deletion at any time by contacting our support team.

8. Children's Privacy

Our subscription service is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
